About Us

Sawbuck Custom Woodworks is owned and managed by Eric Holm.  Before settling in Machias, Maine I had the fortunate experience to live and work for nine seasons all over the continent of Antarctica and two years in the Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Afica.

Our mission is simple: "A right living through honorable work"  And we do this with wood.  Whenever possible we use lumber felled in the forests of Washington County, Maine by local people.  Pine, Spruce, Maple and Oak are common here and from these species we make beautiful products that will last.

Our Business

Our shop is located on Rt 192 in Machias, Maine and is easy to find and get to.  Our low overhead and dedication to quality make us affordable and all of our products are built rugged yet easy on the eyes.

After working out of our barn for 6 years we decided to relocate into a larger space where we can take on bigger projects and store more material.  In 2007 we moved our shop to our present location which sits on 20 acres and here is where we have stretched our wings.

We invite anyone interested in woodworking and building with wood to drop by anytime.  We also appreciate it when clients come by to see the progess of their projects.
